Sarah Duignan

Sarah Duignan is a PhD candidate at McMaster University studying with Dr. Tina Moffat. Her doctoral research focuses on body perception in relation to obesity and dietary change amongst immigrant women in Toronto, Ontario. Through interviews, workshops, and art, her work provides an opportunity to explore and identify barriers to healthy body images and healthy eating, and will explore the complex social, cultural, economic, and biological factors influencing body image dissatisfaction and obesity rates amongst female immigrant youth. As CAPA Student Representative, Sarah's goal is to advocate for student members and work to strengthen equity practices within the CAPA community.
